INTRODUCTION
Missing 2023 is an American screen life horror and thriller film written and directed by Will Merrick and Nick Johnson. The inspiration for Missing is from a story by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty.
Missing 2023 is a standalone sequel to Searching (2018). It stars Storm Reid, Joaquim de Almeida, Ken Leung, Amy Landecker, Daniel Henney, and Nia Long. Its plot follows June Allen/Junebug, who, after her Mom goes missing, tries to find her from home using various online tools.
In November 2022, producer and co-story writer Sev Ohanian revealed on Reddit that the film would also be set after Run, serving as an epilogue to the events of that film and a continuation of Searching.

How did it all start? In August 2019, a standalone sequel to Searching (2018) was announced, with the original film’s director, Aneesh Chaganty, underlining that the Movie will not “follow the same characters or storyline thread as the original,” making the series an anthology.
The COVID-19 epidemic caused a delay in the creation of the film, which was just known as Searching 2.
Will Merrick and Nick Johnson, the first film’s editors, announced in January 2021 that they would write and direct the sequel in their feature directorial debuts, with additional literary material by Micah Ariel Watson and Timur Bekmambetov, producer of Searching.
Missing was released on January 19, 2023. And it is distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It runs for 1 hour 51 minutes.

MISSING FILM REVIEW.
Who says NO to technology? You? or maybe him? Definitely not June!!!
Technology has some negatives, but most importantly, it has its positives, and June in Missing shows them both.
Going into this film, the only idea I had about it was that it was from the producers of Searching. Watching Searching, I was initially confused, but when I got a grasp of it, I enjoyed the film. But for Missing, I grasped what it was about quickly because I had seen Searching.
Missing is excellent with its acting, story, and premise. It is an outrageously thrilling film with a focus on genuine unpredictability. This film involves a lot of emotions being displayed and being felt.
Storm Reid plays the role of a teenage girl named June. She impressed the most with the way she displayed several emotions ranging from shock to anger to surprise to fear which tends to come regularly in a movie depicting a desperate girl in a race against time to find her missing mother.
Reid is the character with the most screen time, and she proved she was the right person for the job. June can operate a computer impressively, moving between tabs and apps to get clues about her mom’s disappearance. I watched this film at night and found it difficult to lose interest or even fall asleep.
Joaquim de Almeida impressed as Javier. Javier acts as a foolish but very rational and logical person. He is entertaining and pleasant. I really enjoyed his performance.

Nia Long plays Grace Allen. She is brilliant in her role as June’s mum. There was good chemistry between these characters. Though it wasn’t smooth, I loved how June interacted with Grace and the emotions they showed towards each other.
The cinematography is impressive. I loved seeing the characters from a computer camera’s point of view. The direction and escalation of this film work nicely and are expertly coordinated.
As we approached the end, when the film’s horror element seemed to be more prominent, we had to view events with our eyes, and I was impressed with the scenery, the lightning, and the angle with which scenes were shot. The scores from Julian Scherle’s score caught my attention and helped develop the atmosphere.
Missing is fast-paced, has a heart-racing soundtrack, and so on. This speed of the film adds to the intensity, which is a perfect element to have in thrillers.
DID YOU KNOW?
Halfway through the film, the main character gets a text from the film’s producer Sev Ohanian spoiling the entire end of the Movie. IMDB
CONCLUSION

Missing (2023) deliver in terms of build-up, tension, and the ultimate revelation that all come together in the end. I was impressed by the twist, and I think you would too. You have no idea what awaits you in this film.
This film thrives around creating suspense and tension, allowing the audience to breathe for a while and then plunging you right back into the drama, giving them something to ponder.
