Hey there, everyone! Guess what’s coming back to the screens? Yeah, you heard it right – Spy Kids! I mean, who can forget those awesome childhood memories of watching Home Alone and Spy Kids, right? Well, get ready for a blast from the past because Spy Kids is making a comeback with “Spy Kids: Armageddon,” and it’s set to drop on Netflix on September 22, 2023.
Now, here’s the cool part – it’s not just any sequel; it’s directed by none other than Robert Rodriguez, the mastermind behind “Alita: Battle Angel” and “Sin City.” So, you know it’s going to be epic.
In this new installment, we’re introduced to a multicultural family, and the cast is stacked with talent. We’ve got Gina Rodriguez as Nora Tango-Torrez, Zachary Levi as Terrence Tango-Torrez, Everly Carganilla as Patty Tango-Torrez, Connor Esterson as Tony Tango-Torrez, and Billy Magnussen as Rey “The King” Kingston. Trust me, this lineup promises nothing but excitement!
So, what’s the scoop? Well, the plot revolves around the kids of the world’s greatest secret agents, who accidentally help a sneaky game developer unleash a nasty computer virus. This virus gives him control over all technology, and you can imagine the chaos that follows. To save their parents and, well, the entire world, these kids have to step up and become spies themselves. Talk about a thrilling adventure!
And speaking of Netflix, they snagged the distribution rights, making this the second Spy Kids project produced for the platform. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Racer Max (who happens to be Rodriguez’s son), and Elizabeth Avellán (Rodriguez’s ex-wife) are all on board as producers. So, you know it’s in good hands.
