In 2019, during the pre-production stage of this film, the Swiss government declined permission to use explosives for a train scene set in the Alps. Consequently, the production team from Skydance Media had to search for alternative locations in different countries, specifically looking for a disused railway bridge.
Andrew Eksner, a Polish-American film producer, was among those approached to assist in orchestrating a realistic “full-scale train crash.” Eventually, the team discovered another suitable bridge in Norway and Great Britain, where the scenes of the chase and shooting on the roof of the train was created. The bridge explosion scene was also filmed at Darlton Quarries in Derbyshire, England.
Subsequently, Eksner filed a lawsuit against the Paramount production crew in an open letter. Eskner accused them, not for the first time, of “ignoring and breaking European law and using corruption and intimidation.” He also accused them of not paying him for his service. You can read more here.
